How a Loving Mother of Two Boys Quit Her Job and Launched Her Dream of Owning a Daycare Business!

Cyndi Beauchemin lived in Oregon in 1996 with her two young sons. She worked full-time but longed to stay home and raise her sons, and she needed to supplement her income so her family could stay afloat.

This is her story, in her words:

"As a parent searching for daycare, I was outraged by the lack of quality care available in my area. The hardest part was finding the right childcare setting. After changing daycare providers four times in one year, I was both frustrated and guilt-ridden.

Dealing with the guilt of not being there to watch all those "firsts".first steps, first words, first discoveries, was hard enough. The search for the best childcare environment was overwhelming.

I have always had a great love for children and knew that I could provide better care than I could find for my own sons. I possessed all the qualities that I truly believe anyone considering becoming a daycare provider must possess:  patience, a love for children, creativity and/or imagination, the endurance to work long hours, organization skills, and the ability to follow a schedule and operate a daycare as a business.

After several months of research, I opened my home daycare and within a few short weeks, had three children to care for. Coming from the corporate world, I was "schedule-bound" and established a daily routine filled with fun and educational activities, nutritious meals, arts and crafts.

Once the word got out about my quality daycare program, my enrollment doubled!

By opening my home daycare, I was able to spend more time with my sons, while contributing to my family's income. I was also able to offer an excellent daycare program for other working parents.

Although I knew I was providing quality care for the children in my home daycare, I wanted to make a difference on a larger scale. That's why I created The Daycare Provider's Workbook and the Daycare Starter Kits. I hope you find them useful in the set-up and operation of your daycare. "

Cyndi started Daycare Hotline in 2000 and has since sold her Daycare Starter Kit to over 1,600 people just like you. Many of these folks have used Cyndi's products to start and operate their daycare in a much more successful and organized way:

The products from Daycare Hotline really helped me out, especially since I was just starting my own Daycare business. What really helped me out was the Interview Checklist worksheet and the Face to Face Interview worksheet. The Interview Checklist worksheet really helped me especially when I would get phone calls from prospective parents. The whole Daycare Provider's Workbook was very helpful as well as informative and it really helped me with the start up of my Home Daycare and it is running very well now and organized thanks to your Daycare Provider's Workbook and all of the information inside of it. I also use the Daycare Organizer and Attendance Book Binder everyday especially when I take attendance. I feel like I made a good investment in ordering the Daycare Starter Kit. Thank you so much for all of information and helpful forms. I use the forms all the time - I just make more copies as needed. I really am glad that I got this opportunity to tell you how I have benefited from using the Daycare Starter Kit. I wouldn't mind purchasing other products from you in the future. Thanks again.

Here is a resource that finally answers all of your questions for starting a home daycare! Most "how-to" books are too vague and do not give you the specifics to complete a task. It not only explains "how-to" but provides fantastic checklists with specific questions to ask when starting your home daycare business. The book comes in a spiral format for easy use to take to the copier. Also, resources for your specific state are provided.

For the seasoned home daycare provider, you will find a tremendous amount of use out of the many forms that are provided to help run your business on a day to day basis.

This is how all "how-to" books should be written!

So Just How Did I Come to be The Daycare Success Coach, Anyway?

My name is Kris Murray, and when I found Cyndi and Daycare Hotline in early 2007, I bought the business. It was easy to see that it had great products, with lots of high praise and rave reviews from customers since its inception in 2000.

What's my story? Well, I spent over 20 years in corporate America, making CEOs richer but getting burnt out and exhausted by endless meetings and office politics.

My main areas of expertise are marketing and just plain business common sense. I have created growth in many companies in lots of different industries, and with two small children in part-time child care, I felt passionate about helping budding daycare owners get the life (and PROFITS) that they deserved!

In the past year, I have helped dozens of daycare providers become more profitable by using real-world success strategies. Here are just some of the key "success tips" I help people with on a daily basis through my daycare forum and weekly e-zine:

  • How to reduce parent-client turnover by providing "unexpected delights" in your child care business
  • How to maximize your enrollment (and make more money)
  • How to charge higher rates & maximize profits
  • How to find grants and/or low-interest enterprise loans
  • How to get the most deductions out of your tax refund
  • How to set yourself apart in your community by using "niche" marketing techniques
  • How to protect yourself with legal entities and liability insurance
  • And much, much more!

You see, when I became a coach to the daycare industry, the most common questions I got were related to things like marketing and day-to-day management issues.

There are so many things that a successful daycare owner needs to be good at in addition to caring for children, it can be very daunting, even downright scary!

Things like getting paid on time from parents, writing solid policies & contracts, insurance, daycare software, taxes, and overall, just getting started in a manner that will optimize success!

Let's face it, running a profitable daycare can be a huge challenge.if you don't have someone to hold your hand and mentor you through the whole process!

So I'm bringing my 20+ years of business know-how to you, the daycare entrepreneur. I look forward to helping you make this a very profitable and rewarding journey.

Starting a daycare business can be an incredible money-making opportunity while being emotionally rewarding.

The need for child care is growing. Today, there is generally much more demand for daycare services than there is supply, which is good news for you. It makes sense financially, but there are lots of other benefits to starting a daycare business:

6 Reasons Why Starting a Daycare Is A Great Way to Make
Fast and Serious Money

Reason 1: The low cost of starting a daycare. Starting a daycare can be done with little money. Rummages, toys you already own, donations from parents, borrowing books from the library, that's all you really need.

Reason 2: Rapid Payback. Instantly you can start your business tomorrow and start making cash. Enroll the child and collect the money all in one day.

Reason 3: Work at Home. This speaks for itself: no more fancy clothes, hassles of running to work, bosses who don't respect you. You set your own rules and limits and work out of the comfort of your own home.

Reason 4: Independence. You are now the boss and you make the rules. Do exactly -- and I mean exactly -- what you want. Give yourself time off when you feel like it.

Reason 5: Business Owners make more money than employees. That's a simple fact. The daycare business is a legitimate business, not some pie in the sky idea. It's not an MLM, networking, or pyramid scheme. The straightforward truth is daycare owners can make more money than many college educated professionals.

Reason 6: Never Miss a "First Moment" of Your Child's Development. You can stay home with your children and watch them grow.and experience every little milestone that they accomplish, instead of being at work and missing those incredible "firsts".

What Kind of Money Can You Make as a Daycare Owner?

Let's get real specific. I found a great resource on actual daycare costs from The Center for Law & Social Policy. This report, done in April 2006, stated that the median costs of child care across the U.S. for ONE YEAR are…

  • $6,322 for a 4-year-old
  • $7,482 for a toddler
  • And a whopping $9,232 for an infant!

So based on the U.S. average, if you have six paying children in your in-home daycare center (two infants, three toddlers, and one 4-year-old), that's a total income of $47,232.

Did you know that most of your expenses will be tax-deductible? Did you know you can get reimbursed for your food costs by the Federal Food Program subsidy? (Don't worry, I'll take you step-by-step through these concepts in my Daycare Success System).

So most of that $47,232 can be considered income for you. If you're currently paying for child care, and you'll be keeping your own kids at home with you, you'll have even more money in your pocket!

So now you know that you can do this, and you know how it can change your life!  Are you ready to hear about the system that's going to help you become a successful daycare owner, quickly and easily?

(And don't forget, that's based on the U.S. average, so if you live in a more pricey area of the country, your daycare business income may be considerably higher!)

So, What Makes This System Unique?

There are two important reasons why you will find THIS product far superior to any other how-to products in the child care market today.

First of all, this system is not some Johnny-come-lately in the market of informational daycare products. Although it's been just recently updated and expanded for 2008, earlier versions of this Daycare Success Kit have helped over 1,900 people start and operate a daycare since it was launched back in 2000.

This course has withstood the test of time.

But instead of telling you how great this product is, we thought we would let some of our customers tell you. Here are just a few more testimonials we have from our raving fans:

I ran a daycare myself for several years and thought I had everything I needed to be a great daycare provider. After reading this material, I realized I had a lot more to learn. This course covers absolutely everything from soup to nuts. After searching for good daycare information, I don't need to look any further. Anyone who cares a great deal for children, and wants to provide the best for them, needs this course. From Child Abuse Hotlines to Daycare Forms, it's all here. You will use this daily to provide the best daycare you can AND YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL.

Kristi Hall, Portland, OR

I sat down and read the workbook from cover to cover.

The author really walks you step by step through the process of setting up and running a home daycare.

I couldn't believe the numerous forms, checklists and worksheets contained within the book. Due to their full size of 8.5 x 11, I quickly edited and copied them for use in my own business.

Anyone thinking of starting a home daycare should own this system!

Tami, Eugene, OR

Reason Number Two, you get EIGHT experts for the price of ONE.

  1. You get the expertise of Cyndi Beauchemin, who wrote the original system, and she based the system on the actual practices she was using to run her own home-based daycare in Oregon.
  2. You get the business & marketing expertise of me (Kris Murray), the Daycare Success Coach!
  3. You get all the expertise from the brains of our SIX experts, each featured in a one-hour tell-all interview!

The bottom line is that Cyndi and I have poured our heart and soul into this course, and we didn't leave anything out. This is a COMPLETE guide to starting and running a successful daycare business.

The Daycare Provider's Workbook is the most comprehensive guide for childcare providers available on the market today. After reviewing numerous childcare resources, I found that The Daycare Provider's Workbook provided information and resources that other childcare books did not. The author's straight forward approach answers those questions that are typically asked by individuals considering a career in childcare. The author also shares many helpful tips, explains practices and procedures which can be extremely valuable to the provider just starting their business. I felt that the format of the book allowed the reader to locate the information they needed quickly, which is beneficial as a reference tool. I strongly encourage anyone who is interested in becoming a childcare professional, or currently is a provider to order a copy of The Daycare Provider's Workbook.

Danielle Westvang, Washington State

I just sat and read your day care provider's workbook. I am very impressed. You did not leave anything out. You went far beyond the expectations of information anyone would need to get started. Way to go!!!

Tami, Colorado

What Will It Cost You to NOT Own the Daycare Success System?

If you use the principles laid out in my system, you will be able to attract and keep more clients, AND charge them a higher price. The average person who uses this system will earn between much more in one year than someone who does NOT.

Remember, the average 2-year-old child in full-time daycare brings in $7,482 in income to the provider (average U.S.) People who use my system bring in an average of 1.5 more children in their first year of business, than those who don't. That's $56,115 more in income over a 5-year period, just from using this course!

Of course, we're not just talking about more money. Yes, you can make great money from running your own daycare business, but there's something more important than that.

When you open your own daycare, even if it's in a center, you can spend much of the day with your children. You can watch them grow and make sure they grow up the way you want. You can have fun with them and enjoy being with them instead of being cloistered away in some office, wishing you could see more of your family.

Finally... you can have the family life you always wanted, be independent and take control of your life.

Children grow up fast. The worst thing you can do is wake up one day when they're in their 20s and about to leave home and you start crying with regret because you wished you'd spent more time with them and had more fun with them when they were younger...

Trust me, it goes faster than you think.

Is it really worth NOT seeing your child's first steps, just so you can please your boss?

What's more, you can really make a difference in your community by raising happy, responsible children.

Look, the demand for this course is huge. It's going to be successful no matter what, but if you don't get hold of it right away, you're going to continue living a life of frustration, wondering what could have been.

Even worse, you could miss out on some of the best years of your child's growth.

Don't let that happen to you. It's time to take control and live life on your own terms.

What you receive in the Daycare Success System is years of expertise from Cyndi Beauchemin, plus 20+ years of business expertise from me, Kris Murray. I'm here to help you be successful…what do you have to lose?

If I can help you make $11,223 more in just one year, what do you think this course is worth?

Great News…You Can Now Get this Entire System for Just $397!

If someone told you that a $397 investment would bring you an extra $11,223, would you take action? My guess is a resounding YES! You'd be a fool not to, right?

BUT WAIT…

Because I am trying to get this course in the hands of as many new daycare owners as possible, I'm offering an outrageously low price on this, for a limited time. You can get your very own Daycare Success System for just $99!

Another reason that I'm offering such a huge discount is, I'm hoping to get lots of feedback and testimonials from users of the course. I hope that after you dig into the course and use some of what you've learned, you'll send me your opinion of it. Is that a fair deal?

Also, I've decided to offer the Daycare Success System in two different formats –1) as a full physical kit that will be shipped to you in the mail, or 2) as a completely downloadable "E-Product". P.P.S. In case you're STILL not sure, here's an excerpt from the transcript of my incredible interview with daycare owner Debbee Cookston:

EXCERPT FROM AUDIO INTERVIEW WITH DEBBEE COOKSTON:

Kris Murray: Do you feel like this profession is a lucrative profession? Another thing people ask me all the time is how much can I really make and can I really off-set my income. I'm making $40,000 a year, but I'm spending $5,000-$8,000 on childcare, because maybe a gal has one or two young children and she's trying to decide whether she can actually do this and make a living. It can be a pretty lucrative career.

Debbee Cookston: When I first started out, I just wanted to be home with my kids. I never realized I could make such good money.

Kris Murray: Right.

Debbee Cookston: Then I made a lot of money, and then a really lot of money and I was able to hire staff, and when I hired staff, I lost money. But at that point, I think I was pretty close to burnout so I kept my staff on. If a family provider can do it, you could make good money. My sister in law did it for years, and she said I will never make the kind of money I made when I was a childcare provider. And can it be lucrative? Yeah, you can make good of money. And if you expand, sometimes it can be overwhelming as far as expenses and stuff, but the idea is to be real careful what's important to spend money on and what's not, and pass off the expenses. I wasn't very good at passing off the expenses until much later in my career. And my staff, I had a tendency to let them work whenever they wanted to kind of thing. That was dumb of me, I'm not a good boss. I boss people around well, but I'm not a good boss, because I have a tendency to let them walk on me. But a woman trying to decide if she can make any money staying at home or should she continue working, a lot of it does depend, because you don't have health benefits when your home and if you have young children, you really need to have a spouse with health benefits. And I was lucky enough to have one of those, but for single moms who may not have that, no I wouldn't recommend it, because she needs to be able to work to take care of her children. And I think health insurance is so difficult right now here in the state of Oregon, that I think it's real important she have that available.

Kris Murray: Okay. What about when you went to having an employee. Did you change to become an LLC, or how did you deal with the whole thing?

Debbee Cookston: We just ran as a sole proprietor. I got my tax ID number, but I already had a federal tax ID number because I didn't want to give out my social security number to parents. And so at the end of the year you have to fill out a W-10 and give it to all your parents. So, I went ahead and filed for a federal tax ID number.

Kris Murray: So you can do that instead of your social?

Debbee Cookston: Yeah, and that was smart. In fact, I just encouraged one of my friends here in Beaverton. She wrote me and said, she wants my social security number, what do I do? And I said get a federal tax ID number instead. But you have to give her one or the other.

Kris Murray: When you were in your home daycare, did you do any special, I guess, what were the things you did to stay full and or create a waiting list? In terms of advertising or specials that created word of mouth or a buzz? Was there anything that stood out from other providers?

Debbee Cookston: I think so. Number one, I had a tendency to saturate the community with our name. It was real important that when May Day came around the kids and I made May Day baskets and took them out to the community. Attached to all of them was my business card. It said provided for you on this wonderful May Day by the children of CJ's Castle. They were adorable! And then when Mothers Day came around the kids and I went to our local elementary schools and delivered single roses to all the secretaries in the front office.

Kris Murray: Wow!

Debbee Cookston: Where'd you get that rose? We only had to get like ten of those, it cost like ten bucks and people would go where'd you get those, and they'd say the daycare down the street.

Kris Murray: Those are really unique ideas, I love that. That really creates some serious word of mouth, that's awesome.

Debbee Cookston: That is going to be your advertising. I've done the $80/month in your small, local newspaper, and nothing gets around until you talk to the secretaries at your local elementary schools who need to love you, get involved in your local PTA, they need to love you, and talk about it all the time. Don't be ashamed that you do childcare. Tell them why it's great, why you do it, why they should bring their kids, where their children will be safe; constant, constant, constant. We would go for walks and people would see ten children walking behind me and would go oh. And I said, right down the street, that's the daycare. We'd do a wagon parade. About once a year we would go around and saturate my neighborhood. I have a very small neighborhood so it wasn't too hard. My boys were on rollerblades and would tape a note to everyone's door. Just a quarter page flyer telling who we were, telling that we had openings, a picture of our wetlands right behind us, and they went, oh my gosh, that's where we live, I bet she's just down the street. I had parents that would walk over for the interview, and that's where a second person is really nice. When people come in to interview that's the most important thing. That person needs the focus of what you're doing, so if you have someone who comes in for an interview, you need to have someone to watch your children. Don't expect to do an interview and watch your children at the same time, it will not work. You need to focus solely on that person's needs and what they are looking for. That's how you're gonna snag your parents. They can walk into a messy house, because it's all about kids and parents walk in and say I want to apologize for the mess because children are happy and they're playing here. Let's walk into an area where we can talk. I would walk into my living room and we'd talk about a few things, and there were a couple of kids in there doing their own thing, but it wasn't loud like my playroom.
